Dr. Keith E. Denton
Dr. Keith E. Denton

Dr. Keith E. Denton was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1956. By 1981 Dr. Keith Denton graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic (Davenport), became licensed in the State of Michigan (#4426), became a Diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, started an internship with Dr. R.R. Gregory (Previously he interned with Dr. Robert Brooks of Tulsa.), and started a practice in the Monroe office. Dr. Denton was one of the very first NUCCA doctors to be Board Certified (1985). Dr. Denton's service and professional involvement with NUCCA in the 1980s was only exceeded by Dr. Gregory. He authored or co-authored a number of Monograph papers and NUCCA manuals and was an integral part of all of the NUCCA Monroe seminars/conferences. He presented at the Life Chiropractic College Fourth Upper Cervical Conference in 1987 and is one of the few persons to have co-authored with Dr. Gregory.

At the death of Dr. Gregory in 1990, Dr. Denton became editor of The Upper Cervical Monograph (1990-1997). He helped develop the Anatometer II (1991 patent) which is a forerunner of the Anatometer II plus that is being used in the Monroe office. He was the author of Introduction to Biomechanics (1996) and was the most sought after NUCCA speaker in intermediate cervical biomechanics. He was involved in the NUCCA Standards of Care and Practice Guidelines (1997) and a contributing author for NUCCA Protocols and Perspectives: A Textbook for The National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (2002).

Between 1988-1998 he was an instructor in the NUCCA Basic Course at Palmer College and was a Professor of Post Graduate Education at Palmer College of Chiropractic from 1990-1998. Dr. Denton has been a lead instructor for NUCCA since 1982. Dr. Denton has been the NUCCA Board Secretary between 1981-1991 and Treasure from 1991-1998; also he was Secretary to the NUCCRA Board from 1983-1991 and has been Treasure to that Board from 1991-present. His service and professional contributions to NUCCA have been recognized by being the recipient of the prestigious Ralph R. Gregory Achievement Award in 1999. He is a founding member of AUCCO, the Academy of Upper Cervical Chiropractic Organizations.

Dr. Denton has a wife, Edna, who is the manager of the office, and a son Graham who is attending Western Michigan University and is majoring in pre-medicine in preparation for entry into chiropractic college. The family lives in Monroe, Michigan. Keith is an avid golfer and fisherman.

Dr. Teresa A. (Denton) Palmer
Dr. Teresa A. Palmer

Dr. Teresa A. (Denton) Palmer was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1957 and is the sister of Dr. Keith Denton. In December of 1979 at the age of 21 Dr. Palmer graduated from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic. On March 1, 1980, Dr. Palmer started her internship with Dr. Gregory and by the end of the year had her own practice under way. Dr. Palmer has carried both an Oklahoma license and a Michigan license for most of her years in practice. Her Michigan license has been continuous since 1980. Dr. Palmer is the first woman doctor NUCCA Board certified (1985) and is the only woman doctor certified by Dr. Gregory.

Dr. Palmer has given a well-received opening NUCCA seminar address, has served a number of years as the final judge in resolving potential certification disputes, has co-authored articles in the Upper Cervical Monograph, has contributed to NUCCA research, and is a contributing author (chapter on the Anatometer) for NUCCA Protocols and Perspectives: A Textbook for The National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (2002). Dr. Palmer is the lead author on probably the most often referenced Monograph article: A Clinical Investigation Into Upper-Cervical Biomechanical Stability: Part I (1990). Dr. Palmer also has been an instructor in most of the NUCCA seminars since 1980 and continues to set aside time from her practice to help non-certified NUCCA doctors advance toward full certification. Dr. Palmer has been elected to the NUCCA Board and has been an appointed member of the NUCCRA Board since 1995. She has the distinction of being the only woman ever on the NUCCRA Board.

Dr. Palmer has been of immeasurable help to her husband, Professor Jim Palmer of the Physics and Astronomy Department of The University of Toledo, in his role as editor of The Upper Cervical Monograph and as the NUCCRA Director of Research. Her son Jeremy is a recent university honors graduate in Biomedical Engineering and in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and is working on his doctorate at North Carolina State University. Her daughter, Randi Palmer, is a junior at Emory University and is a dean’s list major in Physics. The family lives in Lambertville, Michigan. Teresa is an avid collegiate football fan, focused on the family, and is a student of alternative medicine.
